on Mt. Kenya 2002 - 29 September - 08 October 2002

Kaya Guards Kick-Off - 23 October 2002
The Colobus Trust - Kaya Community Forest Guard Programme is a
collaboration between the Trust, the Coastal Forests Conservation Unit (CFCU)
and the elders of three neighbouring Kaya forests, viz. Kaya Diani, Kaya
Ukunda and Kaya Muhaka. [more

17th Annual International Coastal Cleanup - 21 September 2002
In Diani over 150 volunteers from Hotels, Schools, Recreational
Facilities, Beach sellers and local residents joined the three quarters
of a million people across the world who volunteer their time to pick up
rubbish that pollutes our oceans, harms our marine life and poses health
risks for beach-goers. [more info.] |

Art Exhibition & Mixer - 02 August 2002
This fund-raising event was held at 20:00 at the Nomad Hotel in Diani
Beach and included original paintings by artist Vicki Felgate.
Included was wine and cheese, live music, painting sales and an auction.
The event was a success and generated both awareness for the trust, as
well as all proceeds from entry and artwork going to fund the Trust's

Jadini Beach Hotel Tree Planting - May 2001
In cooperation with local schools, the Trust planted over 120 seedlings
on the Jadini Beach Hotel grounds.

Colobus
Trust and WSPA Bring Colobridges to Zanzibar - February 2000
Funded by the WSPA and aided by the Kenyan
Forestry Department, Trust Field Assistant Bakari Garise went back to
Tanzania to help replicate the success of the Diani colobridges to help
save the Zanzibar Red Colobus. [more
