Colobus Emergency (March 19) |
After bringing in a female adult Colobus with major torso distension,
monitoring, two days of regular diet and antibiotics provide enough for
a release to it's home troop. After discussion with local
veterinarian Dr. Oscar, the Colobus was fed, monitored and given fluids
and antibiotics for two days - then released back to it's home troop in
good health. Observed for the rest of the day, the Colobus
re-joined normal activities with it's it's offspring and home troop in
Nomad's Hotel forest near Diani Beach Road.
