We are situated in the beach resort area of Diani. The beach here
is one of the most spectacular in the world. It is nearly 16 km long, of
pristine white sand and fringed with palm trees under a hot tropical
sun!
Colobus Cottage serves as both the HQ for all our operations and the
volunteers home. It
is located within the heart of Diani, and is set in its own large
garden, full of trees and visited regularly by all the local primate
species. It is also right next to the beach! The
cottage is clean and comfortable. You
will be sharing one room and bathroom with up to three other volunteers.
Diani has many useful facilities including ATM, banks, email, 2
modern hospitals, shops and restaurants. It is only 35 km from
Mombasa
and 1.5 hours from the international airport. Water sports (scuba
diving, snorkelling, kite surfing, etc) are available and big game
safaris can be booked here too. Internet services are provided at
the Trust (for a small fee) so you won't be out of touch with your
family and friends.
